Quotes

I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority.

E. B. White (1899 - 1985)

Please remember that tickets must be renewed between January 1st and April 1st.

After March 14th you cannot fish until you have renewed your ticket. Last year we reached our limit for members and consequently we now have a healthy waiting list, so please bear in mind that if you have not renewed by the 1st April the spaces will be filled and you will have to go to the back of the waiting list and therefore pay the entrance fee again.

Please DO NOT let this happen.

Mrs Halls Pool

Access is from marchington station or the small car park on the left going down Green Lane, both of which involve a decent walk of several hundred yards.
Probably the most natural looking pool surrounded by trees and shrubs with an island, lily and weed beds, it is about 1 acre in size and 2ft to 4ft deep under normal conditions, but being in the flood plain of the dove the level rises with that of the river. Fishing is from the access bank with the far side full of overhanging willows, which carp into double figures regularly patrol along. Also contains lots of perch of a size worth catching, plus roach, rudd, chub, dace, gudgeon, tench and a few minnows.
